note from dad

Wednesday morning ... just appreciating all the wonderful comments people have left so far. I also really appreciate the candy basket given to Amanda by the CF pastors ... and I can personally assure you that the white-chocolate covered pretzels where totally awesome ... all of them .... every one ... like, .... the whole bag ... I would encourage the CF pastors to continue this practice of sending Amanda candy baskets, and I would point out that the white-chocolate covered pretzels seemed to be a favorite. :-)

Yesterday was a busy one for Amanda from start to finish .... another great day at school and being with lots of friends yesterday afternoon to watch the CFS soccer team win 3-0.

With the big day, there was a little trouble staying asleep all through the night ... so Denise and 'Mandas are sleeping in for a bit this morning before going to school.

Tomorrow is the appointment with the pediatric oncologist where we should find out about the plans for treatment. We'll let you know how that goes.

Ok dad, you really should wipe that white goo off the corner of your mouth! Or are you saving that for later?

I used to use excuses like "I had a crazy day" so I could sleep in the next day too. Looks like it worked for you, Amanda! Way to go...I will have to learn your little tricks, but don't post them here, your rents are watching!

Many prayers for the Dr.'s and you all for tomorrow. I know it's a big day. Good thing we have a BIG GOD!!

Love to all!!

Yeah, pops, sounds like you're the real fan of the pretzels;-) I can definitely relate. Hopefully, I'LL be restocking your supply soon.

On another note, Amanda and all of you guys are in my near constant prayers. Hang in there, and yell if there's anything I can do to help.

Our dearest Amanda,
Grandpa and I are keeping you and your whole family in our prayers. You should see all the church's and people who are praying for you.
I know what some of the feelings you must be feeling right now. Three years ago I had to face what you are facing. But I knew that God had this cancer planned in my life and he would see me through and I know that He will do the same for you.
If you ever want to email me, please do. We would love hearing from you.
Love, Grandma Mary and Grandpa Bill

Wow, I guess thats all I can really say. I heard about Amandas illness from Casey on friday, and I was speechless, it dosnt seem fair to me for such a sweet, amazing, happy girl, to have to deal with this, but i have a feeling God will show us something through this. Amanda, you are such an awesome, strong girl and I know that you can get through anything, you and your family are always always in my paryers.
Love,
Lindsey

Amanda - Nate & Lydia have both tried to leave comments for you today, but for some reason their comment & everything completely disappears when they "choose an identity". so anyway - I'm stepping in for my 'puter illiterate family....we are definitely all praying for you, especially tomorrow. You and your family are dear to us. And we'll be praying you can rest well tonight! ;-) Love, Lori (and the rest of the klan)

Amanda and family,
Just heard through email from Lori K. what has been happening the last week with amanda. I know that you don't know me well, amanda, just family blood still runs think and deep. I will be praying for you and keeping posted on your progress through the blog. By reading other's comments, I can see that you are very loved by your friends and family. You please let me know if you need anything and you can email me directly as well anytime you want!

Hey,hey, McDaniels! Just a quick note to say that the Lutz family is praying for you. Amanda, remember? We're the ones that hung out with your family and the Kohls' for New Year's Eve once not so long ago. Your dad and I occasionally visit via IM, so I have sort of kept tabs on the fam.
Faith and courage grow exponentially when God's people pray... so that's what we're all doing, and the value of it will be immeasurable in your life. God's blessings upon you all!

Amanda and family - The Douce house is thinking about you and praying for you.
I recently read a quote that I liked.... "Your direction is much mor important than your current location."

Praying that you continue to be filled with His spirit and peace.

Dear Denise,
When I saw you at Boone the other night, as usual you had your irrepressible smile on your face. :) But I could tell by the look in your eyes that something wasn't quite right. I have been praying for you on and off since that day. Now I know why. George and I will keep Amanda and your entire family in our prayers. God is good and he is faithful.
With our love,
Kathy and George Ashton
