At the end of each school year, our school holds a formal banquet to honor our graduating seniors. A dinner and then a time of awards occurs and it is a very nice time for the graduating students and their families. Following the ceremony, the entire high school student body is invited to attend a dance (this would be our "prom", as many schools call it).
As freshman, Caleb and Amanda can now attend this special night. Ben, a former classmate of Abby's invited her to attend and so three of our children prepared for this event.
Wow. What words are there to describe some of those moments that occur so quickly and yet burn themselves in my heart forever? Caleb, so tall and handsome, tying a new tie over a striking new shirt and pants, Amanda...stepping towards us in her first long formal, stunning in her long, blue gown with white lace and Larry placing her first corsage on her wrist, Abby looking lovely with a young man standing next to her for their pictures together and then our three children standing close together, sharing another night of precious memories forged and forever placed in their hearts and in ours.
For every parent a night such as this is a milestone. For us...it is a gift from the very throne of Heaven.
Thankful(and still slightly overwhelmed) for every good and perfect gift,
Denise

Oh my goodness, but all three of you look so wonderful and grown up. Caleb, you are so handsome and Amanda and Abby, you are so beautiful and the dresses are so pretty. We are so proud of you and love you.

Thanks for sharing these exciting events. The pictures are great and remind me of times past and our children and the memories of special events in their lives..school, college, marriage, etc. Denise, get well soon. We are grateful Amanda was able to finish the school year too and with such good results.

It's true, a picture is worth a thousand words. It is wonderful that for at least one night these three young adults could set aside their concerns and enjoy a night of moments that only come once.
Amanda, Caleb and Abby, you are growing into the kind of adults that every parents prays for. Keep doing what you're doing because it works!
Larry and Denise, I can only imagine how proud you are of all your children. This has been a tough time for all of you and the family has maintained it's bonds. It takes special examples to teach those values and, apparently, you have gotten it right six times!
God bless you all.
Denise and family,
I've been out of town a few days and could hardly wait to see what your blog told us....and I am so thankful it is GOOD news........you remain in my heart and prayers....
With love, Sue Lehr Gradwell
