Wednesday Afternoon

We are just getting back to our hotel room. It is a pleasant day outside .... fortunately the blizzard that met us yesterday has moved on ... perhaps to Missouri. Is it snowing there? :-)

The PET/CT scan went fine, and the results are in the doctor's hands in preparation for the multi-site biopsy that takes place tomorrow morning. It is likely that the biopsy will be outpatient, and so we would be released perhaps tomorrow afternoon. Regarding when we will know the definitive results of the biopsy, that could vary depending on how the different samples respond. We would hope to know soon, but it might take a few days.

Regardless, there is a very good chance, according to what is known by the doctors at this point, that Amanda will be given a new type of chemo on Friday morning. It is a type that takes 90 minutes to infuse, and so it is therefore possible that we will fly out of Denver and back to KC on Friday afternoon or evening sometime. Hearing that made Amanda very happy.

I know that the previous paragraphs contain a lot of "ifs" .. "perhaps" ... "possible" ... "could" ... "depends" ... "hope" ... etc., but I am just trying to give you the information we have. As we go through these tests, scans, and biopsies, information is analyzed and acted upon in "real-time" ... on an ongoing basis.
