We're Home

Just a short note tonight to let you all know that we are home! Yeah! Actually, we had a very wonderful surprise occur on Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly after writing the blog about our two days there in the hospital, Amanda's Dr. came in to check on her. She surprised us by saying that since Amanda had managed the chemo so well and since the chemo itself was done and we were just in there because the last part of this cycle is 24 hours of fluids, she trusted us to manage Amanda's fluid intake at home and so she released us! We were soooo surprised!

We returned to the CBCU this afternoon for Amanda to receive the timed injection that follows this chemo treatment (since we weren't in the hospital to receive it).

It was a wonderful gift to us, and it was so much fun for Amanda and I to be here as her siblings arrived home from school and found our surprise.

Home, wow. It really is the very best place for us to be. This home, this family...what a gift.
