And now for the announcement that we have all been waiting (and praying!) for...Amanda has cleared the Methatrexate. We were happy to receive the call late Thursday. Amanda, Abby and I were all so excited. I can tell you there was clapping and cheering and even some jumping up and down going on in this apartment.
And then to add to the joy of that news, late Thursday evening found us at the Hobby Airport picking up Haley! She is working this summer but found that she was going to have a couple of days off and surprised us by buying a ticket and flying to Houston to see us. It is wonderful for me to have another one of my children here and Amanda and Abby were both so thrilled to see their big sister.
We are looking forward to having a couple of days off from our hospital routine. Since Amanda cleared the drug, we do not have to go in for lab draws this weekend. We are all looking forward to the time away.
In the midst of these days that carry both the difficult battle Amanda is fighting and the joy we find in each small victory - we are very aware that we stand supported by the faithful prayers offered on our behalf. Thank you to each of you who faithfully stand before the throne in our place. We are more humbled and grateful than my words could adequately express.
My daughters- three of them tonight - are laughing in the other room. My mother's heart longs to hear the sound of all six of my children, talking and laughing together. I trust that will be true soon. But for tonight, three is a new gift and I am ready to join in that celebration.

Fantastic news on clearing the drug, truly an answer to prayer........
Just anonymous from Iowa who's been in Kansas and Missouri the last few days, checking in to see how Amanda is doing. The weather has been so incredible, bluer than blue skies, fluffy clouds, perfect temperatures, sunshine, greenest greens, etc...With all the storms, rain and flooding we have witnessed recently, this weekend has been a reminder that God still smiles on us, still has wonderful joys planned for us, still continues to bless us.... We have been traveling with grateful hearts and in awe of God's creation. Important images and thoughts to remember when weathering storms....I think Amanda and her family can relate to this...
May Our Loving God bless you all, hold you close and return you home safely and at peace. I pray for fluffy clouds, sunshine and bluer than blue skies for Amanda.........
