Yesterday when Amanda came home from school, she felt tired and achy. We watched her closely, and a little before 2:00 a.m. this morning, her fever spiked beyond the point where we have been told to bring her to the hospital. Denise and Amanda arrived at the hospital shortly after 2, and the nurses were ready and waiting for them ... taking samples and running tests, etc. If there is an infection somewhere, it is important to deal with it very aggressively. Denise and Amanda told me this morning that there were three nurses and a doctor swarming all over her, checking everything there was to check. :-)
I just left the hospital and Amanda is feeling better ... just tired and achy still. The fever is gone and they are pumping her full of fluids. She will be in the hospital until sometime tomorrow, unless the tests for an infection come back positive. If there is an infection, then she may be in the hospital for a few days to be sure the infection is completely defeated.

I'm so sorry that Amanda is not feeling well and had to be admitted. It sounds like the doctors and nurses are taking wonderful care of her. We are praying for a quick recovery, no infection, and that she'll be home soon.
