Working on # 2

As those of you who faithfully follow Amanda's journey through this blog site may remember, earlier in January we spoke of two things that Amanda really wanted to do. One was go to Disney and boy oh boy...didn't that turn out to be a (magical) dream come true.

The second was to be able to come to Joplin with her fellow cheerleaders and peers for the Christian School state basketball tournament. And...(drum roll please...)

HERE WE ARE! Larry and I were thrilled to be able to bring Amanda to Joplin today. After some precious hours spent talking, sharing and planning together, we arrived in Joplin and checked into our rooms. Amanda, Annie and Nikki (the two other cheerleaders that she is sharing a room with) are just a couple of doors down and the girls are already having a wonderful time together. The games will begin tomorrow with the girls playing in the morning and the boys (including her brother, Caleb) playing their first game in the evening.

As so many of the memories that we are making now are, this trip is bittersweet. Senior year holds so many "last time" moments and each of them are even more vivid in our hearts. But as Amanda and I have decided, each day we are looking for those memory shots - the pictures and the moments that we always want to capture and remember in our hearts.

And I believe we are going to have lots of them.

Have an absolute blast in Joplin (as we always do), Miss Amanda! Cheer the boys and girls on for me and make sure you count the yellow cars!! :)

Love always,

Three cheers for Amanda and her two wishes! What a gift this day makes to each of us. May you, and all of us live in the moment and keep our smiles with us while we do. Good luck to your basketball teams and have an amazing time! Love to you, Jodie

IF you can, go to Braum's and have a burger and a shake or malt. Oh my!!! They put magic in their stuff.
My son plays for NCCS and my daughter did so also, graduating in '07. They always loved the CFS kids, we have a pic of all of the girls from the two b-ball teams and it is precious, so know we might be rivals on the court, but off we are ALL in Amanda's court, cheering her on.
From one who questions, there is no question ~ you~ Amanda and your family have the kind of faith the whole wide world needs to see. You are an ambassador for the King everywhere you go.
