The situation as it stands now (4:27 p.m., Monday, January 18):
- Flight details are being worked out and flights should all be covered.
AND
- 9 park hopper passes have been provided.
AND - The exact lodge that Amanda wanted to stay in, had ONE open slot between now and April ... and yes, it was next week, when it best suited our family to go. Amazing!
We do not use this blog to ask for money ... and I don't like doing it even now. However, since we are receiving numerous requests for information regarding how to help us with this trip, I will share with you the following information.
Disney required that we pay the housing cost up front in order to confirm the reservation. It took everything we could scrape up between credit cards and savings, etc. We have certainly been in this situation several times before… And then Denise (who manages all that) works hard to rebuild our accounts through the AMAZING help and contributions of all of you who read our blog or know our family ... and somehow it always seems to work out once more. This is not something we take lightly or for granted – not at all. However, once we learned of Amanda’s desire to have her family together at Disney, it became our honor to try and provide this. And, as Denise and I fully agree…how wonderful it is to be in debt for something that makes her smile.
Denise is working with Disney to get the lodging reduced as much as possible, but as of now the cost is still very high.

How exciting! I grew up at Cedar Valley and have been reading Amanda's blog for a little while. Praying for your family, and SO glad there is a way to help out.

The blessing that we are receiving by being able to help is amazing even to me. This is because there are three people whom I've talked with these past 3 years about Amanda and your family who have never met ANY of you but asked for an address to send money to in order to help make Amanda's wish come true.
