The Stockings were hung... (by heavenly helpers!)

It is Christmas Eve and our home is beautiful. That seems a funny thing to say unless, like us, you have ever been uncertain that you would make it home for Christmas and then that dream came true. Home truly does look beautiful then.

But my home is beautiful for other reasons. While appointments and check ups kept us in Houston, all sorts of Christmas angels have been preparing the way for us. First there were the Houston angels who delivered plane tickets, a place to park our car and a ride to the airport. Here in Columbia there have been wonderful meals for our family who was here, a lovely Christmas tree was delivered and heavenly helpers decorated it plus our home for this holiday season. A vehicle was provided for us to use while our van is in Houston. There are fun Christmas cookies on the counter and delicious Christmas day food in the cupboards (and fridge!). There have been words of encouragement, cards filled with Christmas wishes and much needed and appreciated thoughtful gifts tucked inside, and prayers on behalf of Amanda and our entire family.

The thoughtfulness shown allows us another gift, time together. And we are not wasting even one minute. The sound of our children quietly talking together, or laughing while the girls decorated a gingerbread house and the boys play games together is the sweetest Christmas music of all.

We are together. We are home and together and to everyone who has been so kind and so thoughtful to prepare the way for us this holiday season...thank you. Really...thank you.

Happy Birthday, Jesus. We are so glad you came.

Hello to you all. I am still at the Manor Care getting extensive therapy. Dad is lonely and I am about ready to tell them I want to go home. One month away is a long time.
David has been so kind as to call me with news about Amanda. I hope that you all have a good time while he and Tara are visiting.
Love to you all,
Mary and Dad
