Happy Birthday to you...happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Caleb and Amanda, happy birthday to you!Sunday was the special day that our twins turned 16! With Caleb home in Columbia, and Amanda and I here in Houston, the day was unlike any of the past birthdays the twins have spent. But thanks to the wonderful pool party held earlier this week and the wonderful cards, letters and gifts that each of the kids received, it was still a special day for them both.
In Columbia, Caleb started his day out with lunch at home with a couple of sisters (Abby and Anna) and Grandma Audrey. Later, by early afternoon his time was filled with friends, computer games, supper out and back to our place for more computer games. In Houston, Amanda and I started the day out by driving to the Bush International Airport and picking up Larry and Joshua. This was Joshua's first time down to Houston and we were thrilled to have him come to visit. After lunch out and a trip to Galleria Mall, we celebrated with an ice cream cake from Marble Slab (like the Columbia Cold Stone).
All in all, it was a special day for both kids and for Larry and I as we continue to be grateful that we were given the privilege of parenting these two very wonderful young people.To each of you who were so thoughtful in sending birthday greetings, gifts and words of encouragement to both Caleb at home and Amanda here in Houston, thank you. You were a very dear part of making the day special for them both.
