We begin Week 2

We have just completed our Monday appointments, starting into our second week in Houston.

Amanda and I had a great weekend. Amanda gets each weekend appointment free and so we ventured out to learn more about our new city. We found the Galleria Mall (which is not like any mall we have ever seen before!) we enjoyed worshiping at So. Main Baptist (the church whose ministry is providing this apartment) and we spent some great time hanging out together in the the pool.

Today, Monday, was busy for Amanda. Appointments began early and by mid-morning she was receiving a 4 hour Methatrexate chemo infusion. Some of you may recognized that name, it is the drug that Amanda received in Columbia in which we gave you updates as the chemical cleared her body and the count dropped. Here in Houston Amanda receives it on an out patient basis. I will administer some of the medications that she receives to help reduce the chemical count and she is hooked up to a back pack that contains 24 hours worth of fluids to continually flush her system. The pack looks a lot like the one that she carried when we were in Denver. We will go into the med center each morning for a lab draw that monitors the chemical count as it drops.

The day ended with her third radiation treatment. So far they are still easy to receive with no side effects yet. We are thankful for every good day she has and for each time that we can mark one more treatment off our schedule.

We continue to miss our family and friends but are doing well. Each of you, dear to us, are in our prayers as we trust we remain in yours.

Glad to hear your treatments are going well so far, Amanda. Also glad you and Denise are able to enjoy the positives like swimming and seeing the area.

Thanks so much for the updates, Denise.

You both take care and know that we're thinking of you.
