milk and ketchup

Thanks to the teamwork of the rest of our children back here in Columbia, things are running smoothly. Haley, (who could probably single-handedly manage the second coming), is very gifted in helping to make sure nothing major is being forgotten ... Abby and Caleb doing a great job at keeping the dishes done and stuff like that .... Anna is at camp this week, and Joshua helps with odds and ends like doing some grocery shopping for us.

Also, speaking of Anna and Joshua .... some of the kids and I were visiting a few days ago before Anna left for camp, and we were talking about how IMPORTANT it is for Denise to be here, and how much she is immediately missed when she is gone ... and we were mentioning some of the ways Denise makes our home so special ... and at one point Anna spoke right up and said, "Ya ... and when mom is gone, Joshua even has to go get milk and ketchup!" :-) And actually, that is true. Our family goes through a LOT of milk and ketchup, and Joshua has made a couple urgent runs to HyVee for breakfast milk or supper ketchup. :-)

I'm flying back down to Houston tomorrow morning. I will be there for about a week. Denise will be flying back here on Thursday of this week, and then returning to Houston the following Monday, accompanied by Haley, who will stay there for a few days. Joshua will be going down sometime after that .... according to how his work schedule shakes out.

This is a challenging summer for our family, but we're going to make it. Amanda is the toughest one of us all, and her joy and spirit continue to bless everyone around her. It is clear to me that the hand of God is upon her.

Hi to your family,

We are Stephanie Koske's grandparents in St. Louis, and we have had Amanda in prayers for quite awhile. Debbie has talked to us off and on about it, so we have kept up that way.

Of course, she was telling us about Houston, and I felt encouraged. We have been praying the past year for a teenage boy (16) who spent a lot of time at Anderson and now is back home and doing quite well.

Of course the greatest encouragement is our great God, who loves her and you all so much.
And is answering your prayers

God bless you all.... our prayers continue to reach up to Jesus for Amanada. What a sweet girl she is.
