Life never slows down here in the McDaniel home and as we returned from our wonderful trip to New York, our attention quickly shifted to prepare for a different celebration...Caleb and Amanda turned 17 on Tuesday.
Seventeen. So significant in any young persons life...so much more so in ours where each day is a gift in and of itself. Together Caleb and Amanda are the most wonderful duo. From the very beginning they were as different as could be - Caleb, meticulous, curious, questioning...Amanda, carefree, smiling, and probably singing something as she deliberated over what to wear - and together they are as close and as bonded as only twins can be.
Gathered around for a favorite supper that they chose, we thanked God for the privilege that Larry and I have to raise them through these years of their lives. And we ask for much, much more time to celebrate our love for them. Then came presents, cake, ice cream and of course, lots of candles to blow out.
Lots of laughter, lots of pictures and lots of memories for my heart. What a day.
Happy Birthday our precious twins. What a gift you are to me, to all of us.
