Cookies, Pumpkins, Packing and Nothing Slow

After a number of calls, a few changes and some criteria questions, we are again confirmed to leave for Houston in the morning. We will now stay in Houston for both the first and second infusion, returning to Columbia in time for infusion number three next week.

Along with the travel preparations that are always necessary to make, it is also Halloween time; a holiday that our family has always filled with happy, fun traditions. The sugar cookies were cut into fall shapes, covered with frosting and colorful decorations and delivered to our kind and gracious neighbors. (God Bless our dear neighbors who through the years have accepted so many "unique" holiday cookies from my children, with such graciousness.) Then there where pumpkins to carve, seeds to roast and costumes to prepare.

Tonight Amanda took time to go Trick or Treating with a couple of her classmates, Nikki and Madi. The girls all looked great and had such a fun time together. And what costume did Amanda choose? A race car driver. Yep. With some assistance from her pit crew, a wonderful "car" was created around her wheelchair and she was set to race away.

As I snapped the pictures and they headed out, it occurred to me it was a great costume.

She really never has slowed down...

Better take the plane, Amanda, and leave the "car" for trick or treating!! God speed on your trip and I will be praying that you tolerate the new drugs well.

You make us all proud.....

What a great costume and what ingenuity "someone" or "several" have. Great picture! We'll be praying for safe travel and that Amanda's body will accept this new drug easily with no side effects. Also for physical and emotional strength during this new phase. Continuing to lift all of you in prayer. Wayne and Faye
