Wednesday

It is late, the children are now all prayed for and tucked into their beds (and hopefully asleep!) but before the day ends I wanted to be certain and let you know how Amanda's day went.

She and I arrived at Boone at 8:00 this morning. We were taken right into a room where we met with different members of the surgical team and by 9:00 she was prepped, ready and photographed. (We had to take a picture...she even looks great in those blue surgical head covers!)

The procedure took just about 30 minutes and by 9:40 or so I was back with her as she awoke. By 10:30 a.m. we were on our way back home again.

Her Dr. told me that everything had gone well, the port was removed without any difficulties and that he was very pleased with the procedure.

I was so thankful. This day, this journey has most certainly been covered with the prayers of the faithful and I want you to know, that we can tell.

Amanda slept through much of today, she was very comfortable at bedtime and did not want anything for pain, and even told me that she would like to attend school tomorrow. She will have to be careful of the incision site - no lifting of course - for about 2 weeks but then she can begin to use her arm as she did before the port was placed.

Thank you, really...thank you to each of you who remembered the significance of this day and prayed on our behalf.

Our miracle is upstairs right now, sleeping peacefully, port free.

God is so good.

Wow! Just checked in from Iowa, as the last several times there hadn't been any updates, I figured that Amanda was gloriously engaged in living a normal life and enjoying the chance to leave hospitals, tests, doctors, etc...in the background!

How awesome that the port has been removed and all scans are clear! What an awesome example of TRUST in God, of the power of PRAYER, of a family's LOVE, friend's SUPPORT, and what a WITNESS your sharing your story has been to everyone who came in contact with Amanda's situation.

May God bless you and keep you always!

Just someone in Iowa who cares.....
